Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas well-known as Ashanti. Ashanti was birthed on the 13th of October, 1980 on the shores of Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Her talent was first noticed in her teens. She signed with Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. The same year, she was featured as a guest on Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ja Rule's single, Always on Time and Fat Joe's What's luv? When she released What's Luv, at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and Foolish at number one featuring Foolish being her first single, she was the only female to achieve this feat. She became the first female artist to have the Top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 in America With Foolish as number one and What's Love? Ashanti sampled the track of 1983 by DeBarge Stay with Me in her debut track Foolish. Ashanti's self-titled first album was released in 2002 through Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. record label. The Declaration, Ashanti's fourth studio album, debuted on the 3rd of June, 2008. Hey Baby, After the Club (released both on radio as well as digital) came out October 16 in 2008.
